That’s up from $8.4 billion during the same period last year.

Wawa’s sales have been boosted by new store openings and higher customer traffic. The company opened 22 new stores during the first nine months of 2017 and plans to open about 30 more by the end of the year. It now operates more than 800 stores in six states.

Other businesses owned by Wills Group, including an energy services unit and a real estate investment firm, are also performing well. Overall, the company said its net income rose 14 percent to $465 million during the first nine months of 2017.
