• In 1992 Osman Textiles Ltd., was the first local company who started this interlining business in Bangladesh. It started its journey as an agent of a multinational company and created the interlining market in Bangladesh.
• In 2001 Osman Interlinings Ltd. was formed and a factory was established at the DEPZ in one of its Standard Factory Buildings on a monthly rent basis, with a Coating Machine having a capacity to produce 20,000 Meter a day in a single shift.
• To meet customers increasing demands the Group decided to go for further expansion of the Interlinings business and consequently, in the year 2004 it formed a Joint Venture with Shanghai Qian Wei Interlining Factory, Shanghai, which is the biggest interlining factory in China, by the name of OTL-Doublegull Manufacturing Co. Ltd.
• This joint venture company was set up at the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (D.E.P.Z.) by the Chinese experts on interlining manufacturing, on a floor space of 1,650 square metre or 17,750 square feet.
• Strong leadership and a dedicated workforce led the company to be the market leader within a decade of its establishment.
• To keep up with the pace of growth and expansion of the business, the company decided to establish a factory building of its own on the piece of land at the same EPZ, in 2013.
• The owners and the management of the company, keeping in mind the future, decided on building a ”GREEN” factory building in the allotted piece of land.
• We believe this will be the first “GREEN” Interlining factory with LEED Certification under USGBC.
